Why believe in Christianity over all other religions? by Matt Slick

Critics often ask why Christianity is any better than any other religion in the world.  Of all the religions that exist, how can it be that only Christianity is true?  If God exists, why can't God use different religions?  Don't all paths lead to God?  Skeptics ask these kinds of questions all the time, and unfortunately, few Christians have the answers.  Therefore, in an attempt to demonstrate why Christianity is true and all other religious systems are false, I've prepared the following list of reasons for Christianity's superiority. There are such things as absolute truths If truth is relative, then the statement that truth is relative is an absolute truth and would be a self-defeating statement by proving that truth is not relative.  But, if truth is absolute, then the statement "truth is absolute" is true and not self-defeating.  It is true that truth exists.  It is true that truth will not contradict itself as we have ...

Why Revival Tarries [Paperback]

Leonard Ravenhill's call to revival is as timely now as it was when &supl;rst published over forty years ago. The message is fearless and often radical as he expounds on the disparity between the New Testament church and the church today. Why Revival Tarries contains the heart of his message. A.W. Tozer called Ravenhill "a man sent from God" who "appeared at [a] critical moment in history," just as the Old Testament prophets did. Included are questions for group and individual study. Ravi Zacharias refers to this as "the book that shaped me...more dramatically than any other..." Every Christian an evangelist, John Chrysostom.

Every Christian an evangelist There is nothing colder than a Christian who does not work for the salvation of others. You cannot use poverty as an excuse; the widow who threw in her two small coins will accuse you Luke 21:2-4. Peter said, "Silver and gold have I none" Acts 3:6. Paul was so poor, he often went hungry and lacked even necessary food Philippines 4:12. And being lower-class by birth is no excuse either. The apostles were obscure men from obscure families. Or are yiu uneducated? That is no excuse. The apostle were illiterate Acts 4:13. Are you weak in body?  That is no excuse. Timothy was a person who suffered from frequent illnesses 1 Timothy 5:23. Everyone can serve his neighbour if only he is willing to play his part. Look at the tree which bear no fruit. See how strong and majestic and smooth and tall they are. But if we had a garden, we would Mich rather have pomegranates and fruitful olive trees. The tall fruitless trees are pleasing to the eye but the...

To the G8 summit

A GREAT  SOVEREIGN For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. A FISHERMAN MISLED!

SHE WAS thirty eight foot long, painted blue and white and could hold twenty tons of fish. The three year old Crystal Sea was a seiner fishing vessel skippered by Sandy Feltham. Feltharn had named her from an old-time hymn which pictures the saints in heaven “gathered by the crystal sea,” a scene of calmness and delight. Little did Feltham know that his strangely~named boat would be the stage of the most territying experience ofhis life! It was March when the Crystal Sea put out to sea from Harbour Grace, Newfoundland. While at Harbour Grace her wooden hull was partially coated with fiberglass. With crewmembers, Stan Diamond and Cal Oldford, Feltham sailed up the east coast towards Bonavista Bay to fish for herring, The sea was calm and a balmy south wind blew softly. It was a lovely day, even though there was some local bay ice and some harbours were frozen. Sandy assured his crew that in twelve hours they would be in Bonavista. Eight hours later, a north-west wind beg...

No Greater Love

“No Greater Love than This” The words which you have just read, though originally the words of ]esus Christ, became the key text for a memorial service in Newtownhreda on the outskirts of Belfast on Sunday 1st ]uly 1917. Let me tell you the very moving and interesting story which lay behind that occasion. Being remembered with great affection and admiration was the valour of a young Ulsterman, Private Williain McFadzean, who exactly one year earlier had heroically given his life for others on the first day of the battle of the Somme. That single day, ]uly lst 1916, has become distinguished as one of the worst in modern military history, registering over 19,000 fatalities and 57,000 casualties with William McFadzean one of the first to die just before 7 o’clock that morning. Billy, as he was known to his friends, was born on October 9th 1895 in the town of Lurgan where a plaque to his memory can still be seen on the external wall of the Old Town Hall in Union Street. ORIGINS - THE GENESIS

(Section 1 of 27) You and I arrived on planet Earth only recently.  Cities and languages already existed.  Art and table manners were taught to us by others; and so was history.  Each person’s life touches others; as we each learn, then in turn teach (selections of) what we saw ourselves and heard from others, then die.  Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.  Slowly, inevitably things get dusty and forgotten or rewritten or lost. Our understanding of human and Earth origins builds the learned history used as the foundation for our future; it is a base of experiences, of wisdom.  There is an old Russian proverb, "If you dwell on the past you will lose an eye.  But if you forget the past you will lose both eyes." I do not know if Creation & the Flood as recorded in the Bible are true.  But I do know that there is some very good evidence to support this scientific theory.  Most other sites which deal with our ancient origi...
